Why join us in January?

This retreat is a conscious return to stillness, one that honours the intelligence of the body, the psyche, and winter itself.  The intensity of December will have passed, but the festive season often leaves behind a sense of overstimulation, emotional fatigue, and quiet depletion. This retreat offers you the space to recalibrate and begin the year grounded in deep rest.

Through the gates of Timelessness

Upon arrival, the carriage courtyard will guide you through an enchanting entrance hall, where you'll be welcomed by Jess and Helen. From the outset, the distinct character of the house will begin to reveal its architectural elegance.

The library, with its extensive collection of over 2,000 books, galleries of original artworks including Van Dyke and Gainsborough, French Gobelin tapestries, and interiors steeped in richness and history.

En-suite bedrooms individually designed with antique touches and views that open onto beautifully preserved Victorian gardens.

Natural pathways once shaped by the great garden designer Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, leading to the stillness of Temple Pool, the Roman Bridge, and the Walled Gardens, where The Greenhouse, The Maze and the Kitchen Gardens are quietly tucked away.

As you settle in, our in-house host will ensure your practical needs are met, so your attention can remain with the deeper work of the retreat, to rest and recalibrate.

Returning to Wholeness

You’ll be guided through daily morning and evening Yoga rooted in the Sattva Hatha tradition, alongside Embodied Flow and somatic movement, designed to help you land fully in your body.

Additionally, you will be guided through Yoga Nidra, Yin, Meditation, Breathwork, Chanting, Kriyas and a fire ceremony. Evenings will close with a grounding practice, and the optional offering of Ceremonial Cacao.

In the evening, we’ll gather in Satsang, creating a shared space to reflect, listen, and simply be, deepening our 'Sangha', (the community that holds us).

All practices are optional. While we gently encourage you to join and receive the full experience, nothing is compulsory. This is your time, your space, and your retreat, how you move through it is entirely your own.

Estate to plate meals

Rooted in wellness, every meal is curated just for you. Estate to plate cuisine aligned to the season of winter.

You can expect freshly prepared morning smoothies, fruit, and homemade granola bars to begin your day. After a yoga practice, a generous full English breakfast will be served alongside tea and coffee. As we’ll be eating twice in the morning, first a light offering, then a hearty late breakfast, we anticipate that lunch won’t be necessary before the evening meal. However, if you feel you’d like something more, lunch can be pre-ordered in advance.

A Place of Beauty, Exclusively Yours

During free time, guests are invited to explore or simply be. This is a space where doing less becomes a pathway to receiving more. We encourage you to disconnect from technology in order to truly connect, with yourself, with others, and with the natural world around you.

Options include:

Wandering the grounds through 1,000 acres of parkland, walk without destination, reconnect with the pace of nature.

Sit in stillness beneath the ancient trees in Temple Wood.

Journal or reflect in one of the salons or private nooks.

Read slowly, select a title from the curated retreat library or bring a book long overdue for attention.

Nap without guilt, surrendering to the body’s seasonal need for rest.

Enjoy open conversation with fellow guests.

Practice self-guided movement, intuitive stretching, breathwork or floor-based stillness in a peaceful corner of the house.

Observe, sketch, or photograph the textures of the estate.

Simply be, no need to fill time, only to inhabit it fully.

Elevated Rest

Each guest is welcomed into their own space.

Private bedrooms, individually furnished with historic elegance and modern comfort.

No shared rooms, no compromises, each guest has full space to retreat inward when needed.

En suite or private bathrooms with rainfall showers and deep stone basins, always exclusive to the room.

Crisp linen, weighted duvets, and natural textures that invite grounded, restful sleep.

Original artworks and antique touches, creating an atmosphere of refinement without excess.

Vistas over the estate, expansive views of fields, trees, and winter light stretching across 1,000 acres.

Quiet throughout, the house is held in stillness, allowing for deep rest and uninterrupted solitude.

Meet your hosts

This retreat is lovingly guided by Helen and Jess, two guides who bring deep expertise and embodied wisdom to their teaching. Their shared approach is both intelligent and intuitive, rooted in ancient practice and grounded in lived experience.

Helen Kay

With over 30 years of experience in the performing arts, Helen brings a rare level of embodied insight to her yoga practice. Her journey began with Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Vinyasa, but it was Sattva Yoga, encountered during recovery from a life-changing injury, that became her anchor and ultimately, her path to teaching.

Helen studied under the guidance of Anand Mehrotra and the master teachers at Sattva Yoga Academy, Rishikesh, India, and with Jeff Lester in London, immersing herself in Himalayan wisdom traditions, kriya, and breath-led movement. Her teaching is intuitive and powerful, blending depth with approachability, and presence with grace.

Helen creates spaces that are transformational without pressure, rooted in ritual, and deeply honouring of each individual’s personal rhythm. Her work is guided by a belief in yoga not as performance, but as return, to stillness, to self, to source.

Jess Mysko

Jess brings over a decade of global teaching experience to her work. Initially trained in India, and later in New Zealand, Australia, and the UK, she integrates traditional teachings with contemporary somatic science. Her qualifications include training in Embodied Flow™ as well as studying Somatic Breathwork and Movement for Trauma with The Embody Lab.

Currently in her final year of studying Psychology at the University of Manchester, she is committed to understanding the intricate connections between the human mind and body. Her classes are informed by non-dual Tantric philosophy, yogic mythology, and the sacred feminine, often weaving in the archetypal power of goddesses and ancient storytelling as tools for personal transformation.

Jess invites students into a deepened relationship with their own inner teacher. Her teachers include Scott Lyons, Adele Kinghan, Tymi Howard, Tara Judelle and Sally Kempton.
