Why join us in March?

This retreat is to coincide with the Spring Equinox which occurs at 2.46pm on March 20th 2026. On this day we mark the beginning of Spring, a season of renewal, growth and rebirth. As we step out of the energy conserving winter season, this retreat offers you the bubbling up of Spring energy and the blossoming of new life.

Through the portal of Wonder

Arriving at the top of  Nant, you will be spellbound by its magic. Your journey continues as you wind down the steep road  through the dramatic , encosed coastal valley of Nant Gwrtheryn. Upon arrival, in the  quarry village immersed in the coastal air  you'll be welcomed by Jess and Helen. From the outset, beauty, heritage and lightness will immerse your soul.

The Heritage Centre offers a wealth of information and fascinating displays about the history of the area, the development of the site to the present day and the history of the Welsh language.

En-suite bedrooms uniquely designed in the quarry cottages, embrace the Welsh culture and heritage. Cliff-top paths and coastal trails are just steps from your room.

The grounds of Nant Gwrtheryn guide you to the private mile of beach where the awakening energy of spring will be heard on the thermals and the network of paths will guide you in and around the valley.

As you settle into your sanctuary of invigorating rest - peace and understated comfort will begin to deepen the nourishment, elemental connection, ritual and the rising energy of your Spring Retreat.

Returning to Wholeness

At 2.46pm on Friday March 20th, we will mark the Spring Equinox when day and night are of equal length.

You’ll be guided through daily morning and evening Yoga rooted in the Sattva Hatha tradition, alongside Embodied Flow and somatic movement, designed to help you land fully in your body.

Additionally, you will be guided through Yoga Nidra, Yin, Meditation, Breathwork, Chanting, Kriyas and a fire ceremony. Evenings will close with a grounding practice, and the optional offering of Ceremonial Cacao.

Coastal walks and silent beach walks will deepen our meditation and connection to nature.

A Welsh lesson to embrace the importance of this heritage site.

In the evening, we’ll gather in Satsang, creating a shared space to reflect, listen, and simply be, deepening our 'Sangha', (the community that holds us).

All practices are optional. While we gently encourage you to join and receive the full experience, nothing is compulsory. This is your time, your space, and your retreat, how you move through it is entirely your own.

Meet your hosts

This retreat is lovingly guided by Helen and Jess, two guides who bring deep expertise and embodied wisdom to their teaching. Their shared approach is both intelligent and intuitive, rooted in ancient practice and grounded in lived experience.

Helen Kay

With over 30 years of experience in the performing arts, Helen brings a rare level of embodied insight to her yoga practice. Her journey began with Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Vinyasa, but it was Sattva Yoga, encountered during recovery from a life-changing injury, that became her anchor and ultimately, her path to teaching.

Helen studied under the guidance of Anand Mehrotra and the master teachers at Sattva Yoga Academy, Rishikesh, India, and with Jeff Lester in London, immersing herself in Himalayan wisdom traditions, kriya, and breath-led movement. Her teaching is intuitive and powerful, blending depth with approachability, and presence with grace.

Helen creates spaces that are transformational without pressure, rooted in ritual, and deeply honouring of each individual’s personal rhythm. Her work is guided by a belief in yoga not as performance, but as return, to stillness, to self, to source.

Jess Mysko

Jess brings over a decade of global teaching experience to her work. Initially trained in India, and later in New Zealand, Australia, and the UK, she integrates traditional teachings with contemporary somatic science. Her qualifications include training in Embodied Flow™ as well as studying Somatic Breathwork and Movement for Trauma with The Embody Lab.

Currently in her final year of studying Psychology at the University of Manchester, she is committed to understanding the intricate connections between the human mind and body. Her classes are informed by non-dual Tantric philosophy, yogic mythology, and the sacred feminine, often weaving in the archetypal power of goddesses and ancient storytelling as tools for personal transformation.

Jess invites students into a deepened relationship with their own inner teacher. Her teachers include Scott Lyons, Adele Kinghan, Tymi Howard, Tara Judelle and Sally Kempton.
